Participation and Testimonies

Are you interested in participating in the NURTURE Study?

Thank you very much for your interest! We are excited to meet your family and share in the development of your child.

Children eligible for this study will have a sibling, aunt, uncle or a parent with a confirmed diagnosis of autism. By joining this study your child would be followed for the first three years of their life and will participate in different activities to monitor development.

As part of the study, your baby may participate in:

  • Clinical assessments to evaluate their social, cognitive, and motor skill development through engaging in play-based activities.

  • Eye-tracking visits to examine how your baby responds to various stimuli in their environment.

  • Noninvasive MRI to measure brain growth

  • Noninvasive EEG to measure of brain activity while interacting with caregivers

  • Recordings made in your home to explore language development.

Clinical assessments, eye tracking and EEG visits are conducted at Marcus Autism Center (1920 Briarcliff Rd NE Atlanta, GA 30329) while the MRI visits are completed at our imagining center at Emory University (1750 Haygood Dr NE, Atlanta, GA 30329 ). Families will be compensated for their time and participation and free child care is available.

We understand that every family is different and so every family’s participation in our study may look different. We would be more than happy to speak with you directly to discuss your family’s participation! Please click on the button below to fill out our interest form and a member of the recruitment team will follow up with you.
